Description: Laboratory Apparatus for Physics and Chemistry “G” Catalogue by W. M. Welch Scientific Co., 1516 Orleans St., Chicago, Illinois. Published in 1928. Burgundy leather-like texture exterior. Profusely illustrated. Sampling of topics are: measurements, vacuum tubes, meters and gages, glassware such as beakers and vials, raw chemicals, weights, small tools, lab furniture, tubing, batteries, stop watches, and many, many more. This book is from the collection of a prolific collector of scientific, engineering, and drafting reference books, usually containing prolific drawings and schematics. Additionally, he collected antique engravings, prints, and rare books. The gentleman was one of the first executive engineers at Texas Instruments, and collected numerous examples of fine draftsmanship. Mentionable issue: a) water stain on top, which discolors approx. 10% of pages as shown in last photo. Affected pages are those at front and rear of book, but not middle, and b) back top hinge has 3” lining page rip in the end paper, c) shelf wear somewhat better than average for book of this age, and d) back flyleaf has 0.75” small tear near bottom hinge. Pages are supple and not brittle. No visible writing, marks, or highlights. Pages free from rips and tears. No edge tanning. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping.
