Description: For sale is a nice early figurine made by Royal Vienna around 1760. Not sure what it is supposed to represent but it is a cupid figurine in disguise working as a street vendor . The little guy is in a pink robe with a blue strap, black shoes with a blue bow on them, a red striped tie and wearing a black tricorn hat. There is a little basket on his side filled with ??? Looks like hot dogs or Churros but in his hand he looks to be holding a bundle so it's probably not that. Nice tree trunk to the back and the base has some scroll work to the front. The figurine displays nicely but he has had his wings clipped sadly. Nice painted over to hide them perfectly - a common practice for this sort of damage. Tiny chip to one tip of his hat and a chip to two of the "hot dogs". I could not find this model anywhere in my books or online so if someone knows what he is supposed the be selling an email would be appreciated! The figure is 4.25 inches tall, 1.875 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. Marked underneath with their blue shield mark as well as the impressed letter P for Anton Peyer I believe. A rare early figurine of this superb maker. 18th century Amor Austria Austrian Strassenverkauefer If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like KPM , Augarten and so on.
