Ant Hill garnets are found in and around the Four Corners area of Arizona. The ants remove the garnets from their underground nests, and rain washes the stones down the sides of the ant hills. The garnets are gathered by hand from the sandy Arizona soil. The ant hill garnets in this ring are a deep red color. Eight 2.5mm round cut stones are channel set side-by-side across the top of this ring. All of the stones together add up to 0.75cts. The sterling silver setting is clad in 14K rose gold vermeil. The band is 3mm wide at the top of the ring, and for comfort, the setting narrows to 1.5mm as it passes under the finger. This rose gold vermeil setting shows off the stones nicely in a half eternity ring style. Subjecting precious metals, pearls or gemstones to harsh chemicals and high temperatures can be damaging.
