Description: Ancient Greece Pottery. Magna Graecia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. A Blackware Guttus with central molded image of the head of a young boy. A very squat round foot holds a ribbed, round lidded body with a central molded head of a young boy placed centrally. A single handle extends 90 degrees from a long, trumpeted spout that extends almost vertically, meant for an oil wick. Intact with only very minor loss of glaze at foot and inside of handle. A small chip at lip was retouched with new paint. An attractive piece in hand. GUARANTEED TO BE AUTHENTIC OR YOUR MONEY BACK.
