One of the largest Private Home History, Art & Map Libraries’ this seller has seen in 40-years. Important map illustrating the region between the Rio Grande and the Colorado River, with forts and towns marked, mainly intended to illustrate the error made by Bartlett in setting the line from the Rio Grande to the Continental Divide too far north, resulting in a 5950 square mile area being on the wrong side of the border. Graham shows the correct location further south. This correction was the cause of a major falling out between Bartlett and his fellow surveyors.
