These postcards are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s, and they have LANDSCAPE and RURAL VIEWS. These type of postcards were very popular because they looked like ART PAINTINGS. Some postcards would have water views, sunsets, trees, relaxing nature views, etc. Publishers like Tuck & Sons made these type of postcards popular because of their beautiful colors, and they became souvenirs to cherish for the recipient. The postcards are nicely drawn, have good detail, and are pleasing to look at. One of these was published by Illustrated Postal Card (Eagle logo), a well regarded and sought after publisher of that era. These are good postcards to add to a collection because of their attractive nature. They would appeal to collectors because of their nice designs, how they capture the style used back in the early 1900s, and how they provide a glimpse of life back in that era. Overall, a nice selection of antique Greetings postcards at a reasonable price. The postcards are UNPOSTED (2) and POSTED (3) with cancel dates of 1906-1907. They have UNDIVIDED backs (1901-1907 era). These postcards would have been "Printed in Germany" during the start of the "Golden Age of Postcards (1908-1915 era). They are flat printed. Postcards with UNDIVIDED BACKS were used from 1901-1907. An undivided back is a good indicator of the age of the postcard and its historical significance. During this time period, ONLY THE ADDRESS could be put on the back, and any written message had to be done on the front of the postcard. These type of postcards are collector items because of their age, and because of the limited number of such postcards in existence today. Also, collectors like to own postcards that were published in the beginning years of the postcard hobby. These are BETTER POSTCARDS and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. Regarding condition, please note that we try to remove damaged postcards from our lots, and only sell those postcards that are worth having in a collection.
