Description: Little Drops of Water Mary Our Lady of La Salette FigurineOn September 19, 1846, a “Beautiful Lady” appeared before two children from Corps, Isére, France: 11-year-old Maximin Giraud and 14-year-old Mélanie Calvat, who had their herds on the summit of La Salette mountain, at 1800 meters altitude. Sitting and crying, the Lady got up and spoke to them for a long time, in French and in the local dialect. Then she climbed a steep path and disappeared into the light. She had a crucifix on her chest. On one side of the crucifix was a hammer and on the other side a plier. The hammer represents the sinner nailing Jesus to the cross and the plier symbolizes the faithful removing Jesus’ nails. On September 19, 1851, after a thorough investigation of the witnesses of the event and the content of Our Lady’s messages, Bishop Bruillard, Bishop of Grenoble, states that: “We judge that the Apparition of the Blesses Virgin to the cowherds on the 19th of September, 1846, on a mountain of the chain of Alps, situated in the parish of La Salette, bears within itself all the characteristics of truth and that the faithful have grounds for believing it indubitable and certain.”Beautiful small figurine for your child to teach them about their faith and the saints.
