I worked (clockwise drill) the brush head in two sections at a time and retracted it, then added two more sections and repeated until it made it to the dryer end. Then I ran the dryer for a few minutes, turned it off, and drilled the brush all the way through again and a little more came out. I'll do this once a year now. it did the job 18 May 22 it did the job and it was relatively painless. Feed one or two segments at a time. Don't bother with the attachment for the drill, it's easier to mount the segment to the drill's chuck directly. The threads on the segments can't take much torque -- I stripped two for one cleaning -- so get some extra segments beyond the length you need. Thankfully the stripped threads tend to happen on the first one or two segments -- which are still reachable. This product works as advertised. 14 May 22 I was able to clean out my dryer vent which extends through my roof. The total distance is about 20 feet. The brush got caught in the roof vent stack and snapped off the brush. I recovered the brush after I disassembled the vent. Save yourself some $$ 12 May 22 This dryer vent cleaning kit more than paid for itself with one use and it was easy to use. My dryer vent configuration is probably longer and more complicated than most, over 25 feet total length with a 90-degree bend at one point. Took out big clods of accumulated lint. The "shaft" that attaches to the cleaning brush consists of 20 individual 18-inch sections of flexible fiberglass that screw together. You start with a couple of sections, feed it in, add another section, feed some more, repeat until you're all the way through your vent system. Then when you're all the way through, you repeat the process in reverse. I worked from the outside back toward the inside of the house but you can do it whatever way is easiest. Use a cordless drill -- in theory you could do it manually but I wouldn't recommend it. Also helpful to have a shop vac for all the compacted lint. I managed to almost destroy one of the fiberglass sections when I was trying to push the brush through the 90-degree bend, so the fiberglass poles are sturdy but not entirely indestructible. In hindsight, I would have been better off to stop at the 90 bend and come inside to finish the rest of the vent from the other direction.I had a quote of $65 from a window-cleaning company that also does dryer vents and other stuff. So this kit and my own free labor was a fraction of that cost, and now I have it if I need to do it again periodically. Dryer vent clog 12 May 22 Worked as it was designed and was easy to use although it took 45 mins to clear a pipe approximately 16 feet in length. Might have been better off spending the money to just replace the dryer vent hose. You really need to check this out 12 May 22 Unless your dryer vents directly outside behind it, you should make this a priority. My dryer vents through about 18-19 feet of 4? tubing through the slab. I used this as directed and removed around 5lbs of fuzz. When I ordered this item, I didn?t think there was anything like that much lint buildup. I was very impressed with how well this works even though it?s not very expensive. Well worth the expense. I am sure the dryer will be more efficient after cleaning the vent. Incredibly awesome! 9 May 22 I kept getting a dirty lint trap error message on my dryer which I thought was faulty. The dryer vent and ducts were clean. I ordered this for a one story home. I didn't use all the pieces. The picture shows 1 of 3 piles that was clogged in the vent in the wall leading to the roof. Easy to assemble, sturdy and effective. I did use a drill which helps.
