Drafted 5th overall out of TCU by San Diego in 2001. Tomlinson made his impact felt immediately rushing for over 1200 yards and 10 touchdowns in his rookie season. He would later earn the first of (5) Pro Bowl nods in 2002. He submitted perhaps the greatest single season by a running back in 2006 as he broke the NFL touchdown rushing record with (28) scores and (31) total trips to the end zone. His efforts earned him 2006 NFL MVP honors and his place cemented in both San Diego and NFL lore. At the time of his retirement his career totals placed him 5th all time in rushing yards with (13,684), 5th in yards from scrimmage (18,456), 3rd in receptions by a running back (624) and 2nd in rushing touchdowns (145). He took his place in Canton when he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Simply put LaDainian Tomlinson was one of the greatest to ever do it.
