Description: “2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY” PROGRAM HAND SIGNED BY DOUGLAS TRUMBULL! Special effects wizard Douglas Trumbull created scenes for many epics including “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” as well as directing films like “Silent Running.” But perhaps he is best known for his work with director Stanley Kubrick to create some of the unforgettable special effects in 1968’s “2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.” Here we have one of the programs sold in theaters showing that film on a reserved ticket basis. That is rare enough, but we have this memorablia signed by Trumbull in black Sharpie. He did so several years ago before his death when “Silent Running” was screened at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills, Ca. as one of the Laemmle Theatres Anniversary Classics series. The program is in very good condition. (See photos.)
