Description: This fine antique bronze Japanese hand mirror is decorated with auspicious Nanten characters and a lovely floral design. 12 inches long, with an 8-inch diameter mirror surface, this large mirror is signed “Tenkaichi Fujiwara Yoshitsugu”— Master (literally “best under heaven”) Yoshitsugu Fujiwara [maker]. This 19th century metal artist is especially known for his bronze mirrors. Examples of his work can be found in the famous Boston Museum of Fine Arts collection. (Display not included.)
