This is the August 11, 1999 issue of Oklahoma Gazette featuring new Oklahoma Sooner football coach Bob Stoops on the cover. Stoops was about one month from his inaugural game as head coach of the Sooners, and the cover story was written by former OKC mayor and sports anchor Mick Cornett. The story includes a family photo, which includes future Sooner legend Drake Stoops as a baby. Issue is approximately 10.5" x 13.25". Stoops would go on to win the national championship in his second season at Oklahoma and would be later named to the College Football Hall of Fame.
