The badge face is 2.5cm in diameter and has a stick pin fastener to the rear. The pin was made in support of the Liaz works Paris Dakar team of 1986. The pin features the name of the main sponsor MOTOKOV of Czechoslovakia who were the sole, state owned importer and exporter of all vehicles under communism. Historical Background LIAZ were formed in 1951 as the Liberecke automobilove zavody (Liberec Automobile Company). Producing trucks and buses as part of the Skoda enterprise. All liaz trucks sported the Skoda logo up until the 1970's. After the collapse of the Soviet Union Liaz went bankrupt. Most of their sales were to the COMECON countries and the economic turmoil was too much for the company to endure. The 1980s were very exciting years for Czechoslovakia in the Paris Dakar and the state was eager to showcase the rugged constructions of Tatra and Liaz for export sales.
