FYI, another eBay seller has listed same set for $219.84, which is $88.00 more than my listing.First vehicle is a Vintage 1984 Solido 40th Anniversary D-Day, Solido U.S. Army Sherman M4 A3 Tank, Die-cast Metal 1:50, Mint Condition, NIB. Solido Sherman M4 A3 Canon Tank is a heavy die-cast metal vehicle weighing by itself 13 ounces, with plastic wheels and 2 chain silver metal tank trends. Its turret rotates 360 degrees and cannon elevates. Tank dimensions are 4 5/8" Long x 2 1/4" Wide x 2 1/4" High. It is painted army green in color. Model is made in France. Pilot model of Sherman M4 was completed in September 1941, and Sherman became most widely produced tank of World War II. M4 Sherman defeated heavier tanks by using superior numbers, and by using outflanking tactics to strike thinner enemy flank armor. Also, Shermans achieved success with progressively up gunned models and by working with tank destroyers. Sherman tank (named by British) was fast, maneuverable, mechanically reliable, easy to manufacture, and effective in its infantry support role. It served with U.S. Army and Marines during WWII, and U.S. transferred large numbers to the United Kingdom, Canada, Russia and other allied countries. M4 Sherman chassis was basis of other armored fighting vehicles including self-propelled artillery, tank destroyers, and armored recovery vehicles. M4 was most-produced tank in American history, with 49,324 produced (including variants). First M4 Shermans built used 75 mm cannon, which worked well in North Africa campaign. By mid-1943 M4 75 mm cannon was inferior in firepower and armor penetration to increasing numbers of Germany’s new powerful Panther medium tanks and Tiger I heavy tanks. Later in WWII, a more effective armor-piercing gun, 76 mm cannon, was incorporated into production vehicles. For anti-tank work, British refitted Shermans with a 76.2 mm Ordnance QF 17-pounder gun (as Sherman Firefly). Solido Dodge 6x6 Ambulance Military Truck has die-cast metal truck base, six wheels and three axles, plus a spare tire attached to driver’s door, a rear tow hook, and plastic canvas covered cargo bed. It is painted army green in color. Model is made in France. Dodge WC series, also known as "Jimmy," was a highly successful series of off-road capable, 1 1/2-ton, 6 x 6 trucks, built in large numbers to a standardized design (from 1941 to 1945) for U.S. Army that saw heavy service, predominantly as cargo trucks, in both World War II and Korean War. Original "Deuce and a Half" formed backbone of famed Red Ball Express that kept Allied armies supplied as they pushed eastward after Normandy invasion. Dodge WC series was a closed cab and closed cargo bay was a standard, general purpose, cargo truck. 43,224 Dodge 1 1/2-ton, 6 x 6 trucks were built. Solido Panther G PzKpfw V Tank comes with 2 radio antennas inside box is a cellophane sleeve. Panther G PzKpfw V Tank is a heavy die-cast metal vehicle weighing by itself 13 ounces, with plastic wheels and 2 chain silver metal tank trends. Its turret rotates 360 degrees and cannon elevates. It is painted with army green in color. Model is made in France. Panther G PzKpfw V is a German medium tank of World War II used on Eastern and Western Fronts from mid-1943 to end of war in May 1945. In contemporary English-language reports it is sometimes referred to as "Mark V." Panther that mounted 75 mm cannon was intended to counter Soviet T-34 medium tank and to replace German Panzers III and IV. Nonetheless, it served alongside Panzer IV and heavier Tiger I until end of war. Panther was a compromise. While having essentially same engine as Tiger I, it had better gun penetration, was lighter and faster, and could traverse rough terrain better than Tiger I. Trade-off was weaker side armor, which made it vulnerable to flanking fire and a weaker high explosive shell. Panther proved to be effective in open country and long-range engagements. Panther was far cheaper to produce than Tiger I. Fourth vehicle is for a Vintage 1984 Solido 40th Anniversary D-Day, Solido #226 German Bussing Nag 8X8 SdKfz 232 Reconnaissance Radio Armored Car, Die-cast Metal, 1:50 Scale, Mint Condition, NIB. Bussing Nag 8X8 SdKfz 232 Reconnaissance Radio Armored Car is an eight-wheel vehicle. It has a turret with a 20 mm autocannon and a coaxial 7.92 mm MG 34 machine gun. Reconnaissance Radio Armored Car has a metal parasol rectangular antenna. Armored Car is 4 1/2” Long. It is painted army green in color. Model is made in France. Bussing Nag Reconnaissance Radio Armored Car model is hard to find. Bussing developed an eight-wheel armored car with all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering and two driver positions at front and rear. Deutsche Werke were contracted to design armored body. Turret 232 series was hexagonal shape for increased internal volume and equipped with a long barreled 20 mm autocannon and a coaxial 7.92 mm MG 34 machine gun. Bussing Nag 8X8 SdKfz 232 Reconnaissance Radio Armored Car carried a medium-range and a short-range radio. This model was very distinctive because of heavy "bedspring" antenna over most of hull. This antenna was supported by two insulated vertical connecting tubes at the back corners and an inverted U-shape tube construction on turret sides with a central joint that allowed the turret its full 360° traverse. Bussing Nag 8X8 SdKfz 232 had a crew of 5 (commander, gunner, driver, secondary driver & radio operator). These vehicles were used throughout the World War II in various guises and first saw combat in Poland invasion and in Battle of France. Later, they saw use in both USSR and North Africa campaigns. Extreme climatic conditions in both these areas proved severe for vehicle. In USSR, adverse ground conditions immobilized 150 Sd.Kfz 232s during first wet season of campaign. Speed of eight-wheeled cars made them best scouting vehicles that Rommel had for long-range reconnaissance across wide desert territory. Their superior agility helped them to steer backwards and quickly evade superior forces if needed.Solido tanks and military vehicles are aptly named, as they are truly “solid” with very heavy die-cast metal bodies. They are quite detailed, and the quality is fabulous! Please note that typically, Solido tanks and armored fighting vehicles are made in a 1:50 scale while the support vehicles, which include the jeeps and staff cars, are produced on a slightly larger 1:43 scale. Also, Solido military and firefighting models are built so well that over 55 years later they are as good as they were when they were built and first sold. Truly this is quite remarkable!
