Also consider the fact that Mike Schmidt was unquestionably the best third baseman of all time... He was a 3x NL MVP, a 10x Gold Glove winner, a 6x Silver Slugger winner, a 12x All-Star and led the NL in home runs eight times... He hit almost 550 career home runs (back when 30 homers in a season was considered the gold standard for a power hitter), and was a first ballot HOFer...
