Description: 1972 SCHWINN SPEEDSTER FASTBACK GREEN STINGRAY 5-SPEED 26 BIKE MANTA RAY RACER Click Photos to Enlarge Description Here is an original June 1972 VINTAGE (serial number is FH) mens Schwinn Speedster 5-speed road cruiser bicycle with 26" wheels. It is in the original and very appealing Raspberry RED colored factory paint. If you like UNIQUE original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! *This bike has a cool mens "Fastback" style frame and forks with original paint and decals, original screen chainguard, Schwinn cruiser style seat, wide cruiser style handlebars, Schwinn hand grips, full fenders, Schwinn reflector pedals, (popular on Stingray and Krate bikes) and more! I believe this bike to be basically all original parts from when it was new! (see pics and be your own judge) *This frame is COOL and you almost never see them! I always thought it would be awesome to make a full size adult Schwinn Fastback or Manta Ray bike with a stick shift and large wheels! (this would be the perfect basis for that, use your imagination!) Keep it the original 5-speed or maybe even convert it to a 5-speed stik shift!) I heard these bikes are getting crazy popular in California these days! *Check out the pics, this one looks like it is moving FAST even though it is standing still! I love it and have never quite seen a vintage Schwinn that gives that look like this one does! *The tires are 26x1 3/8". They are slightly newer replacement tires and do hold air. The bike has chrome Schwinn S5 rims front and rear. *The bike is an original 3-SPEED and the gears do operate. The hand controlled brakes are operable as well (may need fine tuning adjustment or possible cable replacement) *DIMENSIONS The standover height is approx 29 1/2". The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 27 1/2". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 17 1/2". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 21". The bike will accomadate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. *NOTED FLAWS I got this one JUST LIKE YOU SEE IT! It has age patina etc but is a very cool look. I LOVE the fact that this bike still wears its original paint. (Has chips scratches etc) Chrome is shiny but shows obvious age and should not be considered perfect show quality. (many people love this type of patina) Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you bid. *This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach.
