It has been parked since the early 1990s. I spent about $2500 buying the following things, brand new and installing : New battery, gear reduction starter motor, complete electronic ignition system (distributor, coil, wires, plugs) , brake master cylinder. Rebuilt SU 1 3/4" carburetors , oil and air filters , fuel tank sender unit and new SU fuel pump .. converted to negative ground ... One fuel tank removed and dipped/ sealed/ painted and new sending unit installed. Car now starts easily on the button, and idles fine and sounds great. Exhaust system was new before I received car. Car goes into gear and can be yard driven. I replaced brake master cylinder and brakes pump up enough to stop, and do not drag. I have NOT driven car on street, tires are disintegrating. Interior is very shabby, black vinyl has tears, wood dash trim is flaking. Switchgear works, automatic shifter handle has fallen out of the column and requires some filddling to fit and select gear. Lights all work as does horn. Wipers and heater blower motor do not work. I suspect motors are seized. Car is missing front bumper at the moment. I may have another available to me. Spoke wire wheels look good , but may have some surface rust. Headliner all intact , but a little dirty. Trunk clean and rust free with most cardboard trim present. Body has dings and nicks but overall impression is it looks very nice. I am looking to sell quickly , this is a great opportunity to buy one of these S types that moves under its own power and is ready for you to finish. 60 year old car in remarkably straight and solid condition here.
