Description: This 1963 Nurse Velvet Ventriloquist Doll made by Juro Celebrity Dolls in New York, is one of their rarest and most unusual ventriloquist figures. Originally marketed as Velvel's girlfriend (from Ventriloquist Rickie Layne, the famous Borscht Belt Ventriloquist as seen on the Ed Sullivan Show). It is one of only 2 female ventriloquist figures made by Juro. She was sold as a "2 Career Personality Ventriloquist Doll". "The School Teacher and the Red Cross Nurse". Clothing includes a green blazer and matching skirt, pink silk lace-adorned dickie, pink removable above the knee underwear, white plastic high heels, and white glasses, as well as her complete Nurse outfit (See photos). Also included, is the original Pamphlet. Velvet is 31.5 inches tall and made with a vinyl head, hands and feet, stuffed body and rooted hair. The working mouth (see video) is operated using a pull string located behind her neck. This figure is in excellent condition overall and with a working mouth.
