Description: The program is in excellent condition with very minor wear. The lineup is included and has some writing and wear from not being completely nested. Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the program and lineup. The 1961 Darlington Raceway Rebel 300 was held on May 6th before a crowd of 32,000. It was the 19th race of the 1961 season, and Fred Lorenzen was on the pole with a speed of 128.965. Lorenzen won the event after an exciting battle with Curtis Turner over the last 20 laps that saw both cars beat and bang in what was described as the "most exciting stock car race of all time." Following Turner in third place was Johnny Allen. Rex White left the race as the point leader over Ned Jarrett. Ralph Earnhardt finished 7th in a Cotton Owens Pontiac.
