Oregon has an evolutionary licensing system, with old tags since 1955 capable of being continuously renewed. This happened during 1954 when the old numbering system reached 999,999 and the state adopted a new system going forward. The first plates in the new series were dated 1956 with unpainted back. The second variant, like this one, had no date, but still used tab slots. More than 60 years of age and expired. Condition is as noted in the photos, much better than average for the age.
