It looks fantastic! This is a 15 min. YouTube video I made of the car on 12.25.24 https://youtu.be/85l0bFa73W4 This is the detailed description of the car from the previous owner when in purchased the car. “Up for auction is a very nice 1958 Plymouth 2-door hard-top. Originally a Belvedere with Sport-tone trim, this Plymouth has been faithfully restored as a Fury tribute car. This is an older restoration, and what might be considered a driver-quality classic, not a six-figure frame-off restoration. However, this would be an excellent basis for such a restoration project or just drive and enjoy like we do. It gets a lot of attention anywhere we take it, with folks wanting to take pictures and talk about the beauty of the Forward Look design. And of course, almost everyone recognizes it as Christine. Body- This is a true, 2-door hard-top coupe with correct Sport Tone trim. I believe the Sport-tone may just be painted over the original factory aluminum color. It does not appear to be original anodized gold. Both front fenders have minor bubbling under the paint (see pics). There is a small bubble just ahead of the driver’s rear wheel. The previous owner attempted to protect the area with a spray-can version of Buckskin Beige, but the color doesn’t quite match. Not noticeable unless you are looking for it. Overall, the paint is driver-quality and would benefit from a proper strip and re-paint, as there is some hazing and cracking as is common with older restoration. The chrome trim is in excellent condition. All the correct stainless trim is present but could use polishing. All the hard-to-find parts are there: bumper wings with proper brackets, Sport-Tone, Plymouth trunk lettering, fender spears, grille V-emblem, and dual antennas. Floor and trunk are solid. Windows operate as they should. The rear quarter windows need some assistance but roll up and down without issue. Rear glass is Sol-ex with the green tint. Also has a nice set of very hard to find stone guards. Interior- Seats and upholstery are done in the correct ’58 Fury patterns. Rear seat has the correct Fury-dip to replicate 2+2 seating. The vinyl on the front/driver’s side has a small split where the seatback bracket meets the material. Otherwise, the seats and door cards are in excellent condition. Correct large-loop brown carpeting. Original headliner. The instrument panel is not finished in the correct brown color. The steering wheel has been restored and is free of cracks. Deluxe steering wheel center. The upper interior trim pieces should be chrome, not silver-painted. Dual dome lights, but they do not work. All gauges work as they should. Fuel gauge is NOS recently replaced. Radio and clock do not work. Heat and ventilation work as they should. Trunk has a replica trunk liner correct for the era. It has the correct 150MPH Fury-specific speedometer. Engine & Driveline/Chassis- Very strong-running 318 Poly featuring the correct 2x4 intake and Carter carburetors, progressive linkage and oval air cleaners with proper elements. The engine runs cool and smooth. The rear carb could use cleaning and new leather for the accelerator pump piston, as the stream is weak on the driver-side jet, causing a stumble when you floor it. If you roll into it, it fuels perfectly. No smoke. Idles nice. The cast-iron 3 speed Torqueflite shifts smoothly and precisely. Good kickdown. No weird noises. The trunnion needs a new boot. Just noticed that this fall when parking it for the winter. Parking brake works as it should. No need for a wood block. Smooth power steering. Power brakes have a newer bellows. They work well. An upgrade to a dual pot system and front disc brakes is a common and welcomed improvement to any Forward Look cars of this era. This is a great cruiser and gets attention everywhere it goes. “The car is located in St Louis Missouri and you are welcome to fly it to look at the car and/or I can FaceTime you and show you anything you would like to see. I will make a outside video and add it to the listing once the weather is nice out side Let me know if you have any questions, Barclay GebelEvol Fury LLC
