1955 55 DODGE PASSENGER CAR HOOD CORONET CUSTOM ROYAL LANCER nice!

Description: Here is the hood from a '55 Dodge passenger car. Is in good condition, straight and dent-free aside from a three small (one to two inch wide), extremely shallow, barely-there dents on the upper surface that can only be seen with grazing-incidence light, and those would be an easy repair. Is also free of rust damage, aside from a tiny notch in the edge of the left rear corner, caused by sitting upright on the ground for years (see closeup photo.....again, an easy fix, and it wouldn't really show anyway.....and I cleaned the corner up with a stiff wire brush, so I can verify that the metal is solid otherwise). This hood has no rust-through in the upper surface or underside brace, and the front and rear lips (where there's two layers of metal) are all good, with no pinholes or bubbling, just surface rust that should clean up fine. All threaded holes and studs are good, both for the hood hinges and the latch (which has been removed). Hood has no bondo. This hood will need to be stripped down to bare metal, prior to repainting, as there were several layers of paint on it that I covered with primer. This is likely as nice a hood as you'll find of this vintage! Note: some models have a short windsplit molding, which this didn't, but it would be simple to drill mounting holes if your application calls for it. This item is too large for UPS Ground (and Greyhound is no longer an option), and is available for pickup at my home in Sweet Home, Oregon (about 100 miles south of Portland). Can also be shipped via truck freight, at a cost in the range of $450 to $520, depending on your location and whether you have a business address it can be shipped to (you can ask me for a quote). And if you're on the west coast, I know a transporter who can deliver for about $300 (again, please ask for a quote).
