Description: Up for auction is a beautiful cover and letter from a guard stationed at the concentration camp in Dachau Germany. In excellent condition. Priced to sell. Postmarked May 19, 1944. The letter indicates the sender worked in the camp writing pool and wishing his mother a happy mother's day and asking her to send him a food package. He mentions the camp is often being attacked by Allied planes but he is close to the forest and safe. Interesting postal history points about this cover are the sender used a stamp instead of sending it via feldpost with free franking as was allowed and there are no camp markings on the cover indicating he mailed it from the town of Dachau and not from the camp itself. Unusual item. Shipping will be a flat $5.00 within the continental U.S. for USPS mail. Overseas airmail shipping is $14.00. Questions? Please contact me at: azteccollectables at hotmail.com.
