Description: This listing is for two objects: 1) Pocket watch 2) Desk / Shelf clock. There are NO OTHER KNOWN EXAMPLES of the pocket watch OR the shelf clock; for all intents and purposes, each of these are UNIQUE. 1) Pocket watch of the Jewish National Workers' Alliance. United States. Condition: Brown stain on the face of the watch, (from age?). Undamaged mechanism, not working. This is depicting the Jewish labor union movement of early 20th century America. Illustrated on the face of the watch are two hands, one holding the Zionist Movement flag and the second hand holding a torch, a rising sun is seen in the background. Written in red on the left side in Hebrew: "Matnat" ("gift from"), and around it, instead of digits, appear Hebrew letters in blue and red: "Y. N. Arb. Farband" (Yiddish Natzionaler Arbeiter Farband). On the reverse, engraved in Hebrew: "Matana Y.N.A.F." ("gift of Yiddish Natzionaler Arbeiter Farband") The Jewish National Workers’ Alliance (Nazionaler Arbeiter Farband) was founded in Philadelphia in 1908 to support Jewish workers and inform them about their social and national rights. 2) Desk / Shelf clock of the Jewish National Workers' Alliance. United States. Condition: Working! When I plug it in the clock runs. The patent numbers on the reverse of the clock date to 1934, 1935, and 1936. This is made of heavy, solid wood, and the dial is under glass. Measures 6.75 inches high, 9.75 inches wide. The diameter of the dial is 5.5 inches. Here, on the dial itself, it says in the center in Yiddish "This is a gift", with the same logo underneath that is on the pocket watch and "Yiddish Natzionaler Arbeiter Farband" around it.
