Dimensions: 14.25 x 18 inches (36 x 45.7 cm) This is a finely detailed map of Oregon produced at the turn of the 20th century for the Economic Geology of Fuels with a focus on coal. The map is presented in a surveyor's format showing abundant hydrologic detail throughout. A key within the map explains the color coding as it refers to indian reservations, military lands, forest, county and land district boundaries, national parks, among other geographic attributes. This map includes Crater Lake National Park, the Klamath, Warm Springs, and Umatilla Indian Reservations, and the Cascade Range Forest Reserve. In the top left corner of the map is a small inset map of the growing city of Portland. A separate key pertains to townships containing coal and townships that probably contain coal, which is the overriding theme of the map as it was produced with a focus on the economic geology of fuels. Condition: This map is in A condition, issued folded now flat with bold, original color on bright, clean paper and ample margins on all sides for framing.
