Description: When Grover Cleveland married Frances Clara Folsom on June 2, 1886, it was a White House Marriage as Cleveland was still in his first term in office. At age 21, Folsom became the nation’s youngest First Lady to a President who was 27 years her senior. Her beauty captured the public imagination, and several trade or advertising cards, of which this is one, pictured the happy couple. This colorful example, measures 3” x 4 15/16” and pictures the pair in a dress shop, examining a piece of fabric manufactured by the Gilbert Manufacturing Company. Very minor yellowing on the rear, but otherwise this card is in very good to near fine condition.
