Description: When we acquired this photo it was in a minimal dark metal frame with glass covering it. It was from the estate of a railroad scholar and writer. Because the glass was cracked we removed the photo from the frame and have photographed it without an enclosure. This photo is a dramatic dark Sepia. We have taken several photos of the photo so that you can see it in various shades. It is best represented by the darker of our shots. This is a striking photo of three sturdy locomotives and the men who worked on them. We can see writing on the side of the building at the far right in the photo that reads "D&RGRW. The caption to the photo, written in white at the bottom left, is "Taken at Cimarron Aug. [blank] 1885." The day in August is left un filled in. From these two sets of information we have taken a chance and called the railroad the Denver, Rio Grande railway. If we are incorrect we would appreciate a correction from whoever wishes to notify us. Please see our photos.
