A fascinating travelogue recollecting Sinclair's tour of England and Wales in 1838. Written in the form of a diary and letters addressed to one of her cousins, "To a Scotch Cousin." A beautiful narrative, vivid in detail and descriptions. With antiquities and anecdotes, remarkable facts, interesting discoveries, traditions, and an evocative narration of the adventures lived by the author. Illustrated with a frontispiece reproducing Vandyck portrait of Charles I on horseback. CONDITION In half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally smart with shelfwear and a slight bumping to the extremities. The leather to the spine has been slightly rubbed. Internally, firmly bound. The odd faint spotting to the occasional leaf, particularly to the endpapers, and a slight offsetting to the title page; otherwise, the pages are generally clean throughout. Illustrated with a frontispiece reproducing Vandyck portrait of Charles I on horseback.
