This is a very significant B.A.E. edition: " Prehistoric Textile art of Eastern United States" is a report of noted archaeologist W.H. Holmes on the ancient Mound Cultures of the southeast U.S. Also important is the contribution of Frank Hamilton Cushing. Cushing was an ethnologist/anthropologist who was the first participant observer: he entered into and participated in the Zuni culture he was studying. He lived with the Zuni, dressed as a Zuni and joined in their ceremonies, rather than just studying the tribe and commenting on it as an outside observer. Condition: A strong copy in good condition. Covers have wear along edges. Binding is very slightly loose but definitely intact. Pages have expected age yellowing. Inside front cover has a book plate from Forbes Library in Northhampton, Mass. Please examine all of the photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding. Media mail shipping to U.S. (48 states only) is $7.95.
