The "white" in "China White" is actually a reference to the color of the poppy flowers from which these seeds are produced. Wars have been fought over the poppies produced from these seeds. These fresh Poppy seeds are pre-stratified and ready to plant. Growing Instructions:Plant poppy seeds in fall or late spring / early summer after the last frost. Most poppies require a period of stratification - these seeds have already been stratified.Soak seeds in water for 12-24 hours. Select a sunny spot with well draining, sandy type soil.Scatter seeds and very gently rake to distribute. Cover with no more than 1/16" of soil.Mist the soil whenever it appears dry. Germination occurs in 7-20 days.Reduce frequency of irrigation once poppies reach 2-3” high as they do not like damp growing conditions.Do not plant in really hot weather. These seeds DO NOT like to germinate in Mid-Summer like weather, the best planting times being Fall-thru-late Spring.Poppies do not do well as transplants.The intended use of these seeds is for planting.
